Practical ESOL for Community and Work

This public ESOL program supports migrants in building practical English for everyday life, community participation, and employment in a European context. It covers foundational grammar, clear conversation, healthcare and social-service communication, and workplace English. Designed with African women and young people in mind, the program also develops self-advocacy, confidence in formal settings, and cultural diplomacy skills for communicating across different backgrounds. By the end, participants will be able to manage common interactions, explain their needs, and communicate more effectively at work and in their communities.

Starting Life in the UK

This self-paced program provides practical guidance for refugees and immigrants settling into life in the UK. It explains how to register with a GP and use the NHS, understand schools and education options, look for safe housing, manage everyday money, and find local support. Participants will also learn the basics of legal rights and responsibilities, how to communicate with public services, and where to build community connections. The course is designed to help newcomers make informed decisions and feel more confident navigating their new cultural and social environment.
